Bags bags and bags

I still cant paint and I still want to paint - what else did I make???? Bags. LOADS of bags - all kinds of bags - all sizes with origami , weaving, found objects, kumihimo braids, crochet................ and what happens to all these bags - all piled up in my damp basement......
I have a basement full of things I have made and things still in progress - not everything gets completed.

Dear Anonymous

You had written: You have artists block. I have life block. Well not entirely true, I have that today.Yesterday afternoon, I went to work on my portrait of Khalid and Marie and I painted, rubbed out and re-painted Marie's face 5 times. I just cannot get it right. I think I must be affected by the humid weather. That's a good one isn't it? I will have another bash today. Or is it because of all the plane crashes this week? Very depressing.

well yes everything is depressing either around you or around the whole world. What is the human race in existence for I wonder. Well you send me pictures of your work in progress and this way you will be able to complete your portrait whether good or bad and we can then judge it for ourselves!!!! Might turn out to be good enough for the Summer Exhibition!!!! Humid weather for painting here is better - it doesnt dry so quickly hahahaha and good for my skin altho I hate humid weather - my joints hurt and I cant sleep I am good at dispensing advice but not good at applying to myself - still cannot paint. Yes too many aircrashes amongst other human disasters - Kuwait Airways watch out - you are having too many technical problems as they like to put it here!!!!!! Admit it Kuwait you are on the round to disaster - I mean what about that party in the hotel last week - what a hoooohaaaa - what about our roads, driving, disrepect and the disgraceful hospitals in the richest country in the world - anyway yes everything is depressing and I still cant paint so Anonymous keep at it there is always hope they say!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The beginnings . . . . . .

Its now almost two years of the artist block syndrome! Every time I get down to some painting (after spending hours preparing the work area!!!!) the brush touches the paper and instantly I have a child's painting. So again I give up and go to other things such as crochet.............. loads and loads of crochet - I am even in the process of creating a coral reef!
Then it was Kumihimo - Japanese braiding - I had the stand made (maru-dai) and made lots of braids - lovely but what to do with them. Then it was Temari - great fun to do . Also , by coincidence, Japanese. They are beautifully embroidered balls of different sizes (weights, and shapes. I also made loads of them - what to do with them!!! more on temari http://www.japanesetemari.com/
Then Origami (ooooops Japanese again!) Lots of origami - even modular origami - again what to do with them .
Then I tried painting again . I tried starting small to get back into the rhythm - nope nothing happened - I just could not decide on the colours or how to mix them - I just sat staring at the palette. So its back to crochet!
And then of course there was the jewellery making. I used to make jewellery ALL the time - the same thing has happened - cant do it any more - tried a few times but the whole piece has to be melted down - such a mess!!!!!!! Check out all my work when I was able to work on http://www.nuziart.com/ .
During the summer before going to my daughter's graduation she asked me to make a few pieces for her - I made two armlets and a ring - after returning that was that!
